About.The New Jersey Association of Floodplain Management (NJAFM) is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to advancing sound floodplain management, hazard mitigation, and resilient land use practices throughout New Jersey. NJAFM brings together professionals and practitioners such as municipal officials, planners, engineers, emergency managers, environmental professionals, and policy leaders to promote effective flood risk reduction strategies that protect lives, property, and natural resources. Through education, training programs, technical resources, and its annual conference, the Association supports continuing professional development and fosters collaboration among federal, state, county, and local partners. NJAFM serves as an interdisciplinary forum for sharing best practices, interpreting evolving regulatory requirements, and strengthening community preparedness in the face of coastal storms, inland flooding, and climate-related challenges.
