About.New Jersey has a unique mixture of terrain - we have the Meadowlands, the Highlands, the Pine Barrens and the Shore. New Jersey also has northern, central and southern regions. But whatever your definition of the area in which you live and work, we are all unified by a hazard that knows no boundaries: Flooding. Flood events are never far from headlines or memories. Floods are the most common natural disaster in the United States, and the costs associated with flood damage continue to rise.
