VIRTUAL WEBINAR
Learn How Environmental Communication Can Help You Reach Your Intended Audience
Details: Thursday, September 18th @ 12pm - 1pm (online)
One of the most important things any speaker can do is be able to concisely and emphatically reach their audience in a way that moves them to take action. It is an essential skill in just about every discipline and even in everyday life as you will never be able to obtain the things you want without first knowing how to ask for them. Yet despite this importance, many individuals in the environmental science industry still struggle to reach their audiences about the critical work they have dedicated their lives to -- which is where environmental communicators can help. This presentation will give a crash course on speaker etiquette, trigger words that cause audiences to lose interest in a science topic - along with words to replace them with, ways to mitigate speaker anxiety, tips to find common ground, and general presentation guidelines to help ensure your work doesn't just get recognized, it gets understood.
