HEC-RAS 2D COURSE
January 12-13, 2022
This 2-day course is devoted to the use of the HEC-RAS program for 2D flow modeling. Course topics include: Review of unsteady flow modeling via storage areas and lateral structures, adding a 2D area, developing 2D boundary conditions, running a 2D simulation, reviewing results of a 2D simulation via RAS Mapper, modeling bridges in 2D and troubleshooting. This course includes 5 hands-on workshops.
HEC-HMS GIS & PMP COURSEJanuary 14, 2022
This 1 day course shows participants how to use GIS software to obtain watershed characteristics including: area, longest hydraulic length, average watershed slope, time of concentration, and curve number. Information is then input to the HMS model for the purpose of simulating the 72 hour PMP event using the HMR-52 precipitation option currently available within HEC-HMS. Peak flow optimization of the HMR-52 simulation is also presented. This course includes 3 hands-on workshops.
