Spring 2008 - Continuing Education Seminars for Construction Code Officials, Technical Assistants and Design Professionals

In the fall of 2007, DCA, in cooperation with Rutgers University’s Center for Government Services, provided administrative seminars on Flood Maps, Flood Insurance (Instructor: Federal Emergency Management Agency), Hazard Mitigation and Emergency Management (Instructor: International Code Council), Erosion Control for Water Quality Enhancement (Instructor: NJ Dept. of Agriculture), and a technical seminar on 2006 IRC Hurricane Resistant Residential Construction (Instructor: International Code Council). Registration is prioritized for Uniform Construction Code Officials and other licensed inspectors, however, architects, engineers, builders, and other unlicensed interested parties may attend seminars for a fee and typically may inquire on availability after the third week of the registration period.

  • October 15, 2008 - Deadline - Provide PowerPoint presentation

    • PowerPoint presentations are due to the secretary for the annual conference.

  • October 21 & 22, 2008 - 4th Annual NJAFM Conference & CFM Exam at the Crowne Plaza, Cherry Hill, NJ

    • (Hold and Note the New Dates and Location!)
    There will be a full day of plenary and concurrent sessions on Tuesday, October 21st, followed by the very popular evening Exhibit Social. On day two, Wednesday, October 22nd, presentations will continue throughout the day. After lunch NJAFM will award New Jersey’s outstanding floodplain managers and announce the results of the 2009 Board of Directors elections. Exhibitor displays will be up through lunch time on the 22nd and the CFM Exam will be proctored that afternoon.

    Your suggestions for speakers and concurrent sessions topics are welcome and we encourage you to contact the board members with your thoughts. Once again we will work with accrediting agencies to provide continuing education credits for Construction Code Officials, Certified Floodplain Managers, Certified Public Works Managers and NJ Professional Land Surveyors. The Certified Floodplain Managers refresher course will be held in September 2008. If you would like to participate on NJAFM’s Conference Committee please contact Mike Graham, Mike@smartvent.com
